Our Photo Gallery

Here we placed recent pictures (or movies) that should highlight some interesting and funny things we experienced in the last period.

In June 2006 we purchased a brandnew apartment, in Berkel & Rodenrijs, just less than maybe a hundred meters away from Jon and Esther! We only have to look down .....

2023

In July we made a trip with Effeweg.nl to Croatia/Dubrovnik. Flying with Transavia and riding a touringcar in Croatia and Bosnia. We were lucky with the weather.

In June we participated in the RTHA neighbour afternoon with our youngest grandkids between 8 and 12. (RTHA - Rotterdam The Hague Airport).

2022

Anneke celebrated her 77th birthday during a weekend in Domburg.

From 6 to 8 October we spent our 50th wedding present in a city trip in Amsterdam. Walked a lot, seen a lot, enjoyed a lot :-) .

On August 20th the former neighbours of the Poptahof FLat Apartment in Delft celebrated their 50th anniversary with a tram and boat trip on the Gravelingen and dinner in Ouddorp.

From August 2nd to 6th we got our granchildren for a visit for a couple of days. They played a lot, and we made a small train tour around Ouddorp, played midget golf and went to the beach and played bingo.

From June 1st  until June 30th we, i.e. all the Haverdings brothers (3) and their spouses, spent our holidays in Canada. We started in Ontario, where we attended a family reunion with the Vandenbrink and Denbesten families. Thereafter we flew to Calgary and made a half-circle trip all the way to Vancouver (island) passing a lot of National Parks.

On Wednesday April 6th we got our seats back for the caravan, after being repaired. Finally, it keeps our butts comfortable :-)

On March 23rd we celebrated the 70th birthday of Martin, with a lunch in the van der Valk restaurant in Dordrecht.

We were shocked by the brutal attack of Putin’s Russian gang upon Ukraine, still being busy to arrange the family trip to Canada in June this year, visiting Ontario and BC, getting our last Covid-19 update vaccination, and prepare for another season at Toppershoedje.

2021

Christmas and new years eve we spent in a chalet (nr. 442) at Toppershoedje during our fortnight stay.

At the end of October we shut down our caravan to make it ready for the next winter. However, a lot of seat cushions - newly installed in april - were removed for repair by the manufacturer.

A few days after this "wedding weekend" the former neigbours of the Poptahof (in Delft) came together for their annual meeting.

In the weekend of 11 september we celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary, with a reception, followed by a dinner, and a lunch the next day, with the remaining Huijer families. This all took place in the Brasserie of RCN Toppershoedje.

In July we made a RCN-tour over a couple of RCN-campings in Holland, viz., Zeewolde, The Roggeberg in Appelscha (Friesland), ending in The Jagerstee in Epe. In Zeewolde we resided in a ‘woonboot’ or  houseboat for two persons. In Appelscha we resided in a magnificent bungalow but in Epe we resided in an obsolete bungalow. There we paid a short visit to the National Artillery Museum in ‘t Harde. Due to our bad experiences with this bungalow we decided to leave early.

2020

Anneke celebrated her 75th birthday at Toppershoedje. Jon and Esther and grandkids rented a bungalow, with wood stove, whereas Henk and Hilda stayed in an apartment close to the reception. On Saturday Wilbert and Marian came along, so we all together had a fine birthday party at our campsite, in the open, and Corona proof ….

In August we spent a few days in Makkum (Friesland) in the beach hotel “Vigilante”, situated in the recreation park the Holle Poarte.
From there we visited several interesting locations, including musea, farms and private houses. Most of them related to our friends Gert and Coby.
From Friesland we returned back home via a mid-week in the RCN Het Grote Bos, where we resided in a chalet/caravan. In the mean time Wilbert and Marian with their kids stayed in our caravan at Toppershoedje.

To beat the heat on our balcony we bought a 2x2 m party tent to give us some comfort during the sunshining (hot) days. An old winscreen provides us with adequate additional shadow to stay cool ...

On Tuesday June 2nd Wim received the delayed DMEK surgery in the Melles clinic. After more than one our laying flat (supine position) the effects were analysed by the OCT scanner. Affixture of the Descemet membrane/endothelium appeared to be a good 80%. Then we went to the nearby Main Port hotel at the over side of the Maas river. The next morning the surgery was analysed again and affixture had rapidly grown to 90%, a substantial improvement. Then we went home and Wim was supposed to lay down for four or five days. That was the worst part ….

On January 21st Wim underwent surgery on his left eye in the Rijswijk Eye clinic, where the cataract was removed succesfully. Checkup will take place three weeks later.

On January 11th we had our annual new years reception at Toppershoedje, Ouddorp. This time we rented a chalet (nr. 442) close to the Strandweg brasserie.

2019

This year passed with a lot of events. In January Wim went to the eye clinic in Rijswijk for a cataract extraction. Then after a couple of weeks the cornea (endothelium) transplant was performed by the Melles clinic in Rotterdam, followed by a re-bubble a couple of weeks later. Then it was time for the caravan related issues: several visits by our grandchildren in May and August. Finally, 2019 was closed with our last ‘hot-pool’ swimming and a gourmet party at Christmas.

2018

From 10-18 August we went to Croatia with a  last-minute trip with effeweg.nl.
Fine people, very good busdriver and Dutch/Croatian guide. Nice weather and beautiful landscapes etc. But the Plitvice lakes were killing for us ....

Thereafter, a couple of weeks were spend in Ouddorp, with our grandchildren Femke and Jelle, for a couple of days, to let them know what camping is ...

On Monday April 9th a 'suspect' package was found on a parking lot in the Kwelderplantsoen. It took the police and a bomb disposal team a couple of hours to dispose it and clear the area.

Eventually, the surgery took place on March 22nd, this time in the Vlietland hospital in Schiedam, after a two weeks delay. The surgery was succesfull and Wim was released the next day.
