Who are we?This page is to make clear who we are, what our business is, where we live and so on. I am Willem Haverdings, 63, born in Amsterdam and married to Anneke Huijer, 66, also born in Amsterdam. My father and mother are basically from Zuidlaren and Linschoten respectively, while Anneke's parents both came from Den Bommel on the former island Goeree-Overflakkee. I am an Aeronautical Engineer (TU Delft) and employed with TNO Rijswijk as research scientist since 1 May 1974. I'm fond of anything related to (military) aviation around the world. On April 1st 2012 I will retire from work and will enjoy my pension (I hope ..;-). Anneke was employed with a couple of catering businesses (after doing a lot of other work and being a mother first) and was detached with Allseas Ltd since 1 March 1997. In September 2006 she retired from active duty, but now she's active in a couple of National Archives as a volunteer. Years ago (2009) Willem also volunteered for the National Archive of North Holland, located in Haarlem. Presently, we live in the nice village Berkel and Rodenrijs and have two children; a sun Wilbert and a daughter Esther. Meanwhile, both kids left our home when we were living in Delft and live on their own. Wilbert is married to Marian and they live in Bergschenhoek (close to Berkel and Rodenrijs), whereas Esther and Jon were married and live in Berkel and Rodenrijs, about 50 meters from our apartment. See our Home page for their own respective websites. And then there are two lovely kittens or (male) cats, nicknamed our 'grandchildren' Spekkie and Dikkie. But since 14 September 2007 we have a beautiful grandson Luke Daniel, and since 8 September 2009 (our wedding day ...) we have a lovely granddaughter Joanne Jette. Recently, on January 4th 2012, we got our third granddaughter Femke Josine from Wilbert and Marian. Our second 'place of living' is Ouddorp on the former island Goeree-Overflakkee, where we now own a trailer. We visit this place for more than 33 years, and RCN camping Toppershoedje is the place where we spend our 'second life'!
